Another upgrade

Now running Drupal 6.4.

At the moment this is mainly a test site for new patches etc., but today I've also uploaded some old videos I had done to test Blender's physics engine, you can watch them here: http://www.wrwrwr.org/2008/september/blender-physics.

Returning to the upgrade, again, updating Zen took most time. It goes much faster if you have all the changes that you've made to files provided by the module (those that you copy to your subtheme folder) written down. It's also a good idea to use a completely separate file (or files) for all your styles, not, like the readme says, base on the zen.css. Nevertheless with some experience Zen is very useful thing.

Another nice new thing is the SWF Tools module, which lets you embed flash without any scripting. It lets you choose the embedding method (such as jquery.flash.js or swfobject) and also supports a couple of different players. There are at least two modules that let you expose this functionality to users: FlashVideo and Flash Node, so making your own video sharing site should be easier than ever.

I've also learned that the point 4: "If using a custom or contributed theme, switch to a core theme (...)" of the upgrade manual doesn't hurt to follow – scrolling through tons of warnings while running the update.php script may be somewhat disturbing ;)
